Whether you’re planning a micro wedding or a full-weekend wedding, there are so many delicate layers to planning. You don’t realize just how many layers there are to go through until you start planning. From communicating with different vendors to making sure to include every decorative detail that’s important to both of you, there is a lot to think about. Another factor to think about is making sure to be respectful of both families in the planning process. With all of that being said, as a Montreal wedding photographer, I’m here to tell you why to hire a wedding planner.

One your wedding day you want to be in the moment and completely stress free. Being super stressed out and running around fixing all the problems that arise isn’t the goal. The idea is: Not making all the vendors and guests come running to either you or your lover on your day when things go wrong. 

It’s an added stress that’s not needed! If things can be resolved behind the scenes without you knowing on the day of, that’s so much simpler for you. It also makes it possible for you to be in the moment and enjoying your day.

The great thing about having someone who’s not family or in the wedding party to help run your wedding day is exactly that. They aren’t part of your wedding!

I had the opportunity to get to know Vintage Luxe Events, a Montreal Wedding Planner. She was able to give me insight into her expertise in the industry. She also allowed me to showcase some of her creations. All the tablescapes and decorations in this blog are of her creation!

The planner is someone who knows it all on your wedding day. They know the schedule, can communicate with all the vendors, will know exactly where each vendor is at all times, can go to the reception while the ceremony is happening to make sure food prep is on time, etc. They are also more flexible and able to go on-site to help decorate when you can’t be there. Their work goes beyond what you and your family can do on your wedding day! 

There are SO Many Different Options

There are so many different options to choose from to help out on your wedding day! You can have a full-on Wedding Planner or simply just a Day of Coordinator. 

A day of coordinator is someone who is just going to help with set up and timeline on your wedding day. They’ll be able to be “you” and answer all of the questions while setting up and when things go wrong.

A wedding planner on the other hand is going to help you with designing and dreaming up your wedding! If you don’t have the budget for a planner to fully plan your wedding, some offer hour long sessions to help you gain some of their insight. This helps you to know what direction to go to and ask any questions you’re stumped on.

Many people question, “Is a planner really needed?”. The short answer is, yes! Having a designated planner who isn’t you or your family can help you tremendously. You won’t even realize all the ways until your wedding day unfolds. I hope this shows you a little of why to hire a wedding planner for your wedding!
