I love surprise proposals and capturing all the emotion that come with them. You aren’t going to want to miss this super romantic proposal at the Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge. If you’re looking for inspiration for a proposal of your own, keep reading!
Jenny + David + the Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge
I loved getting to work with Jenny + David and getting to know them as a couple! I wanted to help David find the exactly perfect location to pop the question. We had to find a gorgeous location that fit their style, not just one that we could take gorgeous photos at. Jenny is shy around crowds, so we knew David would need to choose a secluded enough location. We didn’t want her to feel flustered and be able to just be in the moment with David. David wanted to make her feel ultra comfortable while popping the question. So I did some research and found a semi-private property with an amazing view to do just that!
The Planning Process
Working with David throughout the planning process was so fun. As we started planning, he grew more and more trusting and we were able to collaborate! Eventually I took the lead to location scout and find those gems with the perfect lighting and come up with a Plan A, B, C, etc. I wanted to make it totally seamless, take stress off David, and make it perfect for what Jenny was wanting!
They Always Know…
Planning this proposal with David was so fun. As the person proposing, you always try your best to keep the proposal a secret and sometimes little details just slip through the cracks. That’s exactly how it was with this proposal. Jenny didn’t know that he’d be proposing, but she did notice a few strange things he was doing. She couldn’t stop laughing while retelling the story. There was a lot of laughter throughout the day as a whole, which made it so much easier to photograph them.
The Location: The Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge
This proposal was at the Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge. The location I scouted was behind a bike path where only bikes and pedestrians would go. It made for the perfect quiet spot for Jenny, while still being stunningly beautiful! This spot was peaceful, quiet, and just such a gorgeous spot and beautiful view.
Tips for proposing at the Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge: Since this little gem of a spot is a semi private property, you would need to call the owner to let them know that you will be proposing here. If you are just going for a scenic walk, you would have to enter through a bike path.
